End of Grade (EOG) Milestones Assessment

Testing Schedule

  


The Milestones Assessment was developed to measure a student’s knowledge of the state-adopted content standards which are taught throughout schools in the state of Georgia.  The results from this test will provide critical information about students’ achievement and readiness for the next grade level.



Spring 2018 Testing Dates

Testing sessions will begin at 7:45 am

5th grade:

Tues, May 1 (writing)

Thurs, May 3 (ELA)

Tues, May 8 (math)

Thurs, May 10 (science)

Fri, May 11 (soc studies)


6th grade:

Wed, May 2 (writing)

Fri, May 4 (ELA)

Wed, May 9 (math)











8th grade:

2018 Title II-A Parent Survey

Listed below are the instructions for accessing and taking the 2018 Title IIA Parent Needs Assessment SurveyPlease note that this survey is different than the Title I survey that was recently sent out to the Elementary & Primary Schools.

You may access the TINA survey by using your web browser.  Open your web browser and type in the URL (web address) as listed at http://www.owledu.com/commercecity

The login screen for the TINA software will appear.

Your Username is:  CMSPARENT 
Your Password is: TINA

Please enter the Username and Password and press the [Log On] button.

After you log in correctly, you will see the name of the survey that needs to be taken.  To complete the survey, simply click on the [Take Survey] button by the survey.

Proceed through the survey answering the questions as appropriate.  

When you have finished answering this survey, you should click on the [Save] button at the bottom of the screen.  

After saving, please press the [Exit] button to log out. This will ensure that your survey answers are recorded.

Thank you for your participation.

2017-2018 Georgia Parent Survey

Parents & Guardians:

We would like to take this opportunity to encourage you to participate in the annual Georgia Schools' Parent Survey. The data will be used as part of the calculation of the School Climate Star Rating. Survey responses are anonymous and will be submitted directly to the Georgia Department of Education for analysis. Please respond by November 17th, 2017.  You will also find the links on our webpage and Infinite Campus parent portal.

Changes To Bus Routes

Beginning in 2017-2018, our system will be using a bus transportation software program in order to maximize safety and efficiency of our bus routes.  We understand that it will take a few days in order to get an accurate account of every student on his/her correct bus.  We are asking for your patience in advance as we finalize the routes during the first weeks of school.  

In an effort to make our bus routes as efficient as possible, Commerce City will have one morning/afternoon route for CPS/CES students and one morning/afternoon route for CMS/CHS students.  As we consolidate the routes from two to one in order to have room for all the students who ride a bus to and from school in one route, the system will no longer be able to transport car riders from school to school on the buses.  If students are being transported as a "team" to practice for band, sports, cheerleading, etc., those students will continue to be transported to their practice after school.  We apologize in advance for any inconvenience to our car riders; however, please know that this change will help with overcrowding on our buses and student supervision during dismissal.

Below are schedule changes for the 2017-2018 school year. The two goals of the schedule change include providing extended learning time at CMS/CHS and maximizing the efficiency of our bus routes.

Schedule Change for 2017-2018

CPS/CES 7:45-2:45 (Start/End Times)
Bus Arrives-(7:25) Breakfast (7:00-7:40)

CMS/CHS 7:35-3:05 (Start/End Times)
Bus Arrives- (6:55) Breakfast (6:50-7:30)

Morning Traffic Changes @ Lakeview Drive & Jefferson Road

Commerce City Schools is excited to welcome a police presence from the Commerce Police Department in the mornings to the intersection of Lakeview Drive and the Commerce/Jefferson Road.  The goal in working with the police department is to alleviate the morning traffic that occurs between 7:30-8:00 am.  Beginning on Monday, April 17, the police department will have an officer stationed at that intersection.  Please take caution to watch for the traffic officer and have patience as we work together to make this intersection safer and more efficient for everyone.  A big thanks to the police department for taking initiative to address this issue.

Title II-A Parent Survey

Parents, 

We need your input! The results of this survey will be used to plan professional learning paid with federal Title II-A funds for the 2017-2018 school year.

The survey window will CLOSE on Tuesday, February 28, 2017. Thanks in advance for your help!

Listed below are the instructions for accessing and taking the 2017 Title II-A Parent Input for School Quality and Improvement Survey (ALL Parents). 

You may access the survey by using your web browser.  Open your web browser and type in the URL (web address) as listed 

The login screen for the TINA software will appear.  Your Username is:  xxxPARENT where xxx is the abbreviation for your school

Commerce Elementary School:  CESParent
Commerce Primary School:  CPSParent
Commerce Middle School:  CMSParent
Commerce High School:  CHSParent

(Example. A Parent at Commerce High School would have a username of CHSParent.)

Your Password is: TINA

Georgia Parent Survey

Parents & Guardians:

Please take a few moments to complete the Georgia Parent Survey.  The data from this short survey will be used to calculate the School Climate Star Rating. The Georgia Department of Education believes that a positive school climate is a significant factor in determining student achievement. School climate surveys were developed by the GaDOE to gather school climate perceptions from students, school staff members and parents.  Responses are anonymous and will be submitted directly to the Georgia Department of Education for analysis.  Your participation is greatly appreciated.

2017-2018 School Calendar Feedback

We are seeking feedback on two "draft" calendars for the 2017-2018 school year.  Please carefully review both calendar options and choose the one you prefer.  Please also include specific feedback supporting your choice for the 2017-18 calendar. 

Feedback will be used to create a final calendar which will be presented to the Board of Education for approval in December 2016.  The final calendar will be shared with the community once approved.
