Congrats to this week’s Terrific Tigers! These students were nominated by their teachers for showing the Positivity Project traits- traits focused on students of strong character, integrity, and caring for each other. We will recognize a group of students each week for P2 Traits and all students are eligible. Display those character traits and the next winner might be you!

CMS, with the help of the Commerce Police Department, ran the drug dogs through some classrooms this morning. This was a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of all of our students. We went under a level 2 lockdown. We are proud to say we had zero hits and the dogs cleared all rooms. We wanted you all to know the safety of your child is our first priority and this is a step we take from time to time to ensure that safety. Thank you for your understanding!

Good afternoon. Our schools will be conducting lockdown drills this week. Please do not be alarmed if you hear that one of our schools has gone into a Level III lockdown. There will be additional law enforcement officers and vehicles at the schools this week for the drills. Please talk with your students about the drill so they understand that the drill is another way to keep everyone as safe as possible. Thanks for your help.

Parents - You should have received an email from Josten's in regard to ordering a yearbook. This is a legitimate email offer. However, the deadline to order at the discounted price with a free icon does not end until 9/24. Josten's mistakenly printed the deadline as this weekend. We apologize for the mistake. We will post more information about yearbooks next week and order forms will also be sent home with 6 week progress reports in September. If you have any questions, please email Mrs. Martin at jeanan.martin@commercecityschools.org.

Coach Cotrell and Coach Cruz’s classes had a special visitor this morning! They are working on community as their monthly unit. The students enjoyed listening to what Seymour’s does in our community when an accident happens. Special thanks to Seymour’s Towing and Buddy for showing our students the big truck!
