With the rain, Inflatables are moved to Wednesday and Pajama Day is tomorrow.
The kids asked so let's make it happen! Wednesday will be an optional Pajama Day and Thursday is hat day. Tuesday we have IReady inflatables so socks and shorts are encouraged. Bring water bottles for Inflatable Day and Ag Day as we will be outside. Let's have a great week!
5th Grade Parents: We have an exciting FREE opportunity this summer for students who are interested in a career with Law Enforcement, EMS, or the Fire Department. We are sending a flyer home today with all 5th grade students. If they are interested, we have applications for the program in the CMS front office or at the Jackson County Sheriff's Office. Completed applications are due by Friday, May 17th to CMS.
Parents- Students who are eligible to go to Funopolis will receive a permission form on Friday, May 10th. The deadline to turn money and permission forms in is Wednesday, May 15th.
We are excited to announce that Mrs. Laura Cox, our Art Club Sponsor and a noted local artist, will be hosting an Art Camp this summer. See the attached flyer for details and reach out to Mrs. Cox for more information. This is a great way to expand your child's experiences this summer!

5th graders participated in the CHAMPS Ceremony today with the Jackson County Sheriff's Office. Thank you to all the officers, Sheriff Janis Mangum, and Mr. Brad Puckett for organizing this event and educating our kids on the dangers of drugs.
parents: the 8th grade formal is 7 pm-9pm tonight. You can drop off students in the front of CMS and pick them up promptly at 9.
5th grade parents can check out students after the CHAMPS Ceremony today and the rest of today will be excused.

Congrats to this week’s Terrific Tigers! These students were nominated by their teachers for showing the Positivity Project traits- traits focused on students of strong character, integrity, and caring for each other. We will recognize a group of students each week for P2 Traits and all students are eligible. Display those character traits and the next winner might be you!
May 3rd is the last day to pay any existing balances for the cafeteria. Any students that have a balance past this date will receive an alternative meal. In addition, students with a balance will not be allowed to attend the Funopolis reward trip. Thanks in advance for your assistance in this matter!
Friday, May 3rd, will be the final day of this school year for which meals may be charged without a positive account balance to support the charged amount.
This is necessary to enable our Cafeteria Managers to assess their list of owed balances, notify households and close out the school year with zero negative balances.
Beginning Monday May 6th students will not be able to purchase meals without payment or an account balance to support the charge. Please put sufficient money on your child’s account or send payment with them for the purchase of meals. Positive balances on the final day rollover to the next school year OR you may request a refund by e-mail or in writing to the School Nutrition Director. Positive balances for graduating seniors or students leaving the district can also be donated to our Angel Fund. The Angel Fund consists of community donated funds and is used to help families needing assistance paying their child’s school meal account.
