We are recognizing our 7th/8th grade December - April Students of the Month tomorrow (7th grade) & Friday (8th grade) with a short ceremony and little refreshments at 7:30am in the CMS Learning Commons. Parents please join us as we celebrate these students!

Please remember that students will not be eligible to participate in the Funopolis reward trip until all school fees are paid including library fees for lost books and cafeteria balances. Please have your student look for lost books at home this evening. Remember to pay any fees that are due as soon as possible.

Thank you to the sweet ladies of Maysville Baptist Church for serving our faculty a delicious, home-cooked meal today for Teacher Appreciation Week. What a treat it was! We are grateful for your kindness.

Friday May 12th is the deadline for clearing your child’s negative meal balance at all Commerce City Schools. Please note that students, faculty and staff will not be able to charge meals after that date. Meals purchased beginning Monday May 15th through the end of school will be on a “pay as you go” basis unless there is money on account to cover the cost. Thank you for making the Commerce City Schools Nutrition Department one of the most successful programs in the State of Georgia. We appreciate your support and assistance in closing out another great year.

​Commerce City Schools and the Georgia DOE are teaming up to help eligible households enroll in the Affordable Connectivity Program which could provide up to $30 toward your internet bill. Visit gastudentconnect.org or call GA Student Connect at 470-500-1903 to enroll. Students enrolled in the Free & Reduced School Lunch Program and School Breakfast program are eligible for ACP. Additional information will be sent home with eligible students beginning the week of May 8th.

The CMS Athletic Awards Ceremony will be held on Tuesday, May 9th at 5:30pm in the CMS gym. All CMS student athletes and their families are invited to attend.

Spring picture money & unwanted picture packages are due this Friday, May 5th.

We would like to thank Dr. Powell for his leadership, kindness, daily support of our faculty and students, and his dedication to CMS! We are thankful for you today as we celebrate National Principals Day!

All library books are due by this Friday, May 5th! All fees for lost books must be paid by May 10th in order for students to be eligible to attend the Funopolis field trips.

Congratulations to the 8th grade Students of the Month for April! ELA: Christian Byrom - Christian has improved his writing skills, and is always eager to ask questions in class. Math: Abby Saxon - Abby has remained motivated in math all year long and is working hard in class during our Milestones review. SS: Jade Rodriguez - Jade has shown a lot of improvement in social studies and does a terrific job participating in class. She is also very respectful and involved in class discussions. SC: Caleb Lewallen - Caleb exemplifies dedication, diligence, perseverance, and a positive attitude in science class. ELA Applications: Caden Darnell - Caden exhibits a positive attitude and has a wonderful sense of humor. Math Applications: Lola Byrd - Lola is extremely hardworking, is always willing to participate in group activities, and made tremendous growth on her Math iReady diagnostic.

Congratulations to the 7th grade Students of the Month for April! ELA: Aubrey Martin - Aubrey always puts forth her best effort and is polite, respectful, and helpful. Math: Abby Santiago-Sampson - Abby comes to class every day with a positive attitude. She works hard and is always respectful to her teachers and peers. SS: Jackson VanGoosen - Jackson does what is expected of him without complaining and is always engaged in class discussions. SC: Dayana Montano Nunez - Dayana is genuinely kind and respectful to all of her teachers and her peers. ELA Applications: Ryder Olson - Ryder is respectful, hardworking, and leads by example. Math Applications: Shad Worley - Shad is very respectful and hardworking. He has come so far in class this year.

Congratulations to the 6th grade Students of the Month for April! ELA: Khanh Nguyen - Khanh is a great student who asks great questions, works well with others, and has a great sense of humor! Math: Joseph Byrom - Joseph asks questions when he doesn't understand and has shown tremendous growth throughout the year! SS: Elias Paul - Elias is such a hardworking, responsible, respectful, and fun student! He always participates in social studies class! SC: Adriana Gomez - Adriana always works hard and sets a good example for her classmates. ELA Applications: Colby Anderson - Colby is a wonderful student who works really hard and always gets his work completed! Math Applications: Blake Crunkleton - Blake is an excellent mathematician who explains his thinking and helps his peers.

Congratulations to the 5th grade Students of the Month for April! ELA: Braylynne Roudebush - Braylynne has made great progress this year as both a reader and writer! ELA: Jaycee Peyton - Jaycee is always engaged and working hard in class. I am incredibly proud of her hard work and dedication from the beginning of the year to now. Math: CJ Duncan - CJ has stepped up in class to become a leader, works hard to be his best, and is always respectful and kind to those around him. Math: Titus Paul - Titus has worked very hard this past month. I'm grateful for his efforts. He's a great mathematician! SS: Kipton Stephenson - Kipton serves his school in many positive ways. He is an FCA leader, a model student, and an all-around terrific young man. SC: Connor Milford - Connor has grown so much as a scientist this year. She is always prepared for class, answers questions, helps others, and has a positive attitude.
