ELA: Kynzie is always ready to learn day in and day out. Her enthusiasm and motivation are inspiring!
ELA: Aaliyah has been such a joy to have this year! She enjoys participating in class, helping her peers, and continuously gives 100% in class.
Math: Edward has worked extremely hard in math and has shown amazing growth. He participates, asks questions and follows directions consistently. He is a great student to have in class.
Math: Willow is a strong math student. She is a silent leader who always listens intently and gives her best effort. I appreciate you Willow!
SS: Kayda is a great student in social studies and always gives her best. She has gone above and beyond to reach her goals.
SC: Brayden is a hard worker that adds so much to class discussions. He has grown tremendously as a student, leader, and scientist this year.

ADMISSION IS $3 AND REFRESHMENTS WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE.


FCA will meet Friday morning in the gym at 7:20 am. We will have a guest speaker and breakfast will be provided.


Congratulations to Mrs. Paige Crawford for winning the Tanger Kid’s Day Grant for her CMS class! Mrs. Crawford works with Coach Steve Cotrell, Mrs. Madison Cruz, and Ms. Lisa Burns in our Self-Contained Classrooms. Mrs. Crawford was awarded the grant to provide unique learning tools for her students. Thank you Mrs. Crawford for all you do for CMS. Thank you to #tangeroutlets for your continued commitment to the success of all of our students!


CMS 8th graders visited the Georgia State Capitol, Atlanta History Center, and the Varsity today!
The students got a Capitol tour and met Rep. Houston Gaines and Chris Erwin and Senator Bo Hatchett.
The students viewed the Cyclorama and saw exhibits on everything from Native Americans to the 96 Olympics!

Dental forms were sent home with students for anyone interested in receiving dental services with Help A Child Smile.
If you would like to sign up your student, the forms are due by January 31st, 2024.


Boys take the PAC IX Championship with a 68-38 win over East Jackson! It is a great day to be a Tiger! We will celebrate both teams in the CMS gym at 2:30. Parents and family are welcome to attend as we celebrate both of our championship teams!

Mrs. Cruz’s class went to practice for the Special Olympics Bowling today! Overall winner was Angelina Henderson. Please come out and support us March 22nd @ Showtime Bowl in Athens.

Congrats to this week’s Terrific Tigers! These students were nominated by their teachers for showing the Positivity Project traits- traits focused on students of strong character, integrity, and caring for each other. We will recognize a group of students each week for P2 Traits and all students are eligible. Display those character traits and the next winner might be you!


Basketball Parents & Fans: Just to clarify, the basketball championship games will be held tomorrow morning, January 20th, at Empower College & Career Academy (1952 Winder Highway - Jefferson, GA). The girls will play at 10:00 am and the boys will play at 11:20 am. Go Tigers!

CMS Boys win the semifinal round 53-22 over West Jackson. Both teams will play for the championship Saturday starting at 10 am.


CMS girls win the semi final round 47-23 over Banks County! Go Tigers!


Both CMS basketball teams were in action this evening at Commerce. Lady Tigers won its contest against Haymond Morris, and the boys outlasted Westside. Go Tigers!

Save the Dates!
Current 8th graders will visit CHS during the school day on Tuesday, January 23rd. During this visit students will take a tour of CHS and learn about the different courses they can take.
On Thursday, February 1st, current 8th graders will come to Rising 9th Grade Registration Night at CHS where they will meet with an advisor and sign up for their courses. Students with last names A through M will come to CHS at 6:00pm and last names N through Z will come at 6:30pm.
The faculty and staff of CHS look forward to meeting all of our rising 8th graders!

CMS Beta Club held a service project this morning for MLK Day. Students worked together to help beautify different areas of Downtown Commerce. They worked hard and were good representatives of both CMS and the community!





MIDDLE SCHOOL STATE DUALS UPDATE:
CMS Wrestling Team went 3-2 for the day. CMS beat Lamar Co, Davis Middle and Social Circle. The team lost to Lumpkin Co and Gilmer. Proud of our Tigers!

CMS Wrestling is competing today in the MS State Duals at West Laurens starting at 9 am. Go Tigers!


Boys Soccer practice is cancelled for today. We will resume on Tuesday with tryouts and conclude tryouts on Wednesday.
