Students created their own abstract designs that came together as a beautiful and unique paper quilt! They also began work on their own fabric collages inspired by the Gee's Bend Quiltmakers of Alabama.

Congratulations to the 7th grade Students of the Month for February! ELA: Takari is always attentive, gives his best effort, and is a positive influence on his classmates. Math: Manning works hard and always has a positive attitude. SS: Matthew is a hardworking young man. He has a great attitude and is always ready to learn. SC: Jason can always be counted on to go above and beyond to achieve in science class. He is a hard worker, supportive teammate, and inquisitive scientist. ELA Applications: Peyton leads by example in her class by coming in prepared and always working hard. She is happy about life each day. ELA: Angel is always respectful and gets along with his peers. He has shown tremendous growth in ELA. Math: John works very hard in math and participates frequently during lessons. He is happy to explain how he solves math problems in order to help other students understand. SS: Ladd is enthusiastic every day and always has a terrific attitude. He is a great student and leader at CMS. SC: Jenifer is always polite, on task, and respectful. Parents and Guardians: Progress Reports will be sent home today with all students. Please sign and return the progress report. We will also be sending deficiency notices home for any students who are currently failing 1 or more academic classes. If you receive a deficiency notice, please work with your child and their teachers to improve their grades. Any student who is failing 1 or more academic courses can be retained or made to attend summer school in June.
